Open the tool and choose your file
Or drag it onto the page. Some tools take text instead — those open with a box already waiting. Nothing happens until you say so.
Set what you need
A quality slider, an output format, a page range. The tool reads your file locally and shows you the result before you commit to saving anything.
Save it where you want it
Your browser writes the finished file to your downloads folder like any other download. Close the tab and the working copy is gone — we never had it.
What happens to your file
Nothing. That is the whole answer.
You can check this yourself in about thirty seconds: open your browser's network panel, drop a file, and watch how quiet it stays. The panel below is what that looks like.
- Read from your disk by your browser, not by us.
- Held in the tab while the tool works, then discarded.
- The finished file is saved by your browser to your device.
- Closing the tab clears everything. There is no copy left behind anywhere.
- No account, so nothing ties a file to a person.
- Nothing is recorded about what you process or what is inside it.
Why not an upload site
Most online file tools are a form that posts your file to someone else's computer. This is what changes when that step disappears.

Questions people actually ask
Are my files really never uploaded?
No. Your browser reads the file from your disk and the tool works on it in the same tab. If you want proof, open your browser's network panel before you drop a file and watch it stay empty.
Why is it free?
Because serving you costs us almost nothing. There is no storage to pay for and no processing to run on our side — the work happens on your device. A small number of unobtrusive ads on some pages cover the rest.
Why does the first load take a moment?
The tool itself has to arrive in your browser before it can do anything. That happens once per tool, and afterwards the page works even without a connection.
Is there a file size limit?
Not one we set. What you can process depends on your own device and how much room your browser has to work in. A phone will tap out earlier than a laptop.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, for most tools. Small and medium files are fine on a recent phone or tablet. Very large video is still better handled on a desktop.
What happens if I close the tab halfway?
The work stops and the in-progress copy is discarded. Your original file on disk is untouched — a tool only ever writes a new file when you ask it to save one.
