A note on quality
When the target format can hold the video and audio exactly as they are, the tool copies them across without re-encoding, so nothing is lost. When it cannot, the profile you choose decides how much is re-encoded. The Smart profile makes that call for you.
Questions
Are my videos uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser reads the video from your disk and the tool works on it in the same tab. You can watch this yourself: open your browser's network panel before you drop a file and see it stay quiet.
Is there a file size limit?
Not one we set. What you can convert depends on your own device and how much room your browser has to work in. Very large video is easier on a desktop than a phone.
Will converting reduce the quality?
Not if it can be avoided. The Smart profile copies the video and audio across unchanged whenever the target format allows it, and only re-encodes when there is no other way.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It works out of the box in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and on modern phones.
