How it works

01

Choose your image

The current dimensions are read automatically.

02

Enter new dimensions

Leave the aspect ratio locked to avoid stretching.

03

Choose an output format

Match the format to where the image will be used.

What happens to your file

The picture never leaves your device

Compressing or converting a photo usually means sending it to somebody else's computer and getting a new one back. Here the work happens in the page you are already looking at: your browser opens the file, the tool rewrites it, and the browser hands you the result.

  • lockOpened from your disk by your browser — not sent anywhere first.
  • memoryHeld in the tab while the tool works, then dropped.
  • downloadSaved to your device by your browser, not by a link to a server.
  • delete_foreverClosing the tab clears the working copy completely.
  • visibility_offNo account, so nothing is ever attached to an identity.
  • analyticsNo tracking of what you worked on or what was inside the file.

There is no queue and no waiting room. The picture is worked on in front of you and released the moment the tab closes.

What people use it for

Hitting a platform's exact dimensions

Marketplaces and social networks publish pixel sizes. Set them here instead of fighting the uploader.

Shipping a lighter page

Hero images are usually the heaviest thing on a site. Getting them smaller before they reach your CMS is the fastest performance win available.

Sending photos on a weak signal

On hotel Wi-Fi or a poor mobile connection a full-resolution photo can sit at sending for minutes. A smaller copy goes through in seconds.

Preparing marketplace listings

Selling platforms set their own caps on size and dimensions. Get inside them before you start filling in the form.

When something goes wrong

Damaged files, and formats outside the list above, stop with a plain message rather than a spinner that never finishes. If a picture opens in your gallery it will normally open here.

That file could not be opened

The format is not supported. Convert it to PNG or JPG first, or try one of the other image tools.

Why not an upload site

An upload-based tool is a form that posts your picture to someone else's machine. Take that step out and a lot of small annoyances disappear with it.

A typical upload site

closeYour photo is copied to a server before anything happens.
closeYou wait for an upload, then wait again for the download.
closeSize limits come from a pricing tier.
closePrivate photos pass through infrastructure you did not choose.
closeBatch work needs an account and often a paid plan.

This tool

checkThe photo is opened on your device and never moves.
checkNo upload at all, so no waiting on a transfer.
checkThe ceiling is your own machine, not a plan.
checkFamily photos, contracts and unreleased work stay in the room.
checkNo account exists to restrict, so there is nothing to unlock.

Questions

What happens if I unlock the aspect ratio? expand_more

The width and height are treated independently, which can stretch or squash the image. Only unlock it when you deliberately want that effect.

Can I make an image larger? expand_more

Yes, but enlarging cannot invent detail that was never captured. The result will look softer than a photo taken at that size originally.

What size should I use for social media? expand_more

Instagram posts work well at 1080 by 1080 pixels, stories at 1080 by 1920, and a typical website hero image at 1600 pixels wide. Facebook link previews are best around 1200 by 630.

Is there a file size limit? expand_more

No fixed limit is imposed by the tool. The practical ceiling is how much memory your device has free, because the whole job runs inside this browser tab.

Does it work without an internet connection? expand_more

Yes, once the page has loaded. Nothing is fetched while you work, so a dropped connection does not interrupt a run.

Do I need an account or an email address? expand_more

No. There is nothing to sign up for, and nothing is ever attached to an identity because no file leaves your device.
