Large files are supported. Speed depends on your device.

Your file stays on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

This tool runs entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded, stored or shared.

How it works

01

Choose your video

The video opens directly in your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.

02

Select the target

Drag a box over the face or moving object you want to redact.

03

Track movement

Motion tracking advances the box across the timeline automatically.

What happens to your file

The clip never leaves the tab

Trimming usually means handing a video to somebody else's machine and waiting for it back. Here the clip is opened by your browser, cut in place, and handed straight back to you. No request is made in between, so there is nothing to intercept and nothing left behind.

  • Opened from your disk by your browser — not sent anywhere first.
  • Held in the tab while the tool works, then dropped.
  • Saved to your device by your browser, not by a link to a server.
  • Closing the tab clears the working copy completely.
  • No account, so nothing is ever attached to an identity.
  • No tracking of what you worked on or what was inside the file.

There is no queue, no render farm and no waiting room. When the tab closes, the clip is released with it. There is a fuller walkthrough of how Filezaar works in the browser if you want the detail, or follow our DevTools guide to verify your file never leaves your device.

What people use it for

Pulling a highlight out of a long recording

A screen recording or a lecture is mostly waiting. Keep the section that shows the thing and drop the rest.

Preparing footage for a smaller screen

A shorter, lighter clip loads faster on a phone and is easier to pass on.

Rescuing a clip that will not open

When a phone produces a file an editor refuses, one conversion usually makes it openable everywhere.

When something goes wrong

Damaged files, and formats outside the list above, stop with a plain message rather than a spinner that never finishes. A clip that plays in your player will almost always open here.

That file could not be opened

The container or the video track is not one the browser can read. Try converting it to MP4 first, or use a different copy of the file.

Why not an upload site

An upload-based editor posts your clip to someone else's machine before it does anything. Take that step out and a lot of small annoyances disappear with it.

A typical upload site

Your clip is copied to a server before anything happens.
You wait for an upload, then wait again for the download.
File size limits come from a pricing tier.
Private or unreleased footage passes through infrastructure you did not choose.
Batch work needs an account and often a paid plan.

This tool

The clip is opened on your device and never moves.
No upload at all, so no waiting on a transfer.
The ceiling is your own machine, not a plan.
Client footage and unreleased cuts stay in the room.
No account exists to restrict, so there is nothing to unlock.

Questions

Is my video uploaded to a server?

Never. Video decoding, tracking, masking, and encoding run entirely inside your browser on your device.

Does it leave a watermark?

No. Filezaar never adds watermarks, stamps, or branding to your exported files.

How long can the video clip be?

There is no artificial limit. Processing depends on your device's memory and processor speed.

Can I blur a licence plate or screen instead of a face?

Yes. The motion tracker works on any rectangular area — licence plates, faces, screens, or badges.

What if the tracking box drifts?

You can pause at any point, adjust the bounding box position or size, and resume tracking smoothly.

Is there a file size limit?

No fixed limit is imposed by the tool. The practical ceiling is how much memory your device has free, because the whole job runs inside this browser tab.
