When something goes wrong
Damaged files, and formats outside the list above, stop with a plain message rather than a spinner that never finishes. If a picture opens in your gallery it will normally open here.
The format is not supported. Convert it to PNG or JPG first, or try one of the other image tools.
Why not an upload site

What happens to transparent areas?
JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent regions are filled with white. If the transparency matters, convert to PNG instead — that preserves it exactly.
Why would I go from WebP to JPG if WebP is smaller?
Compatibility. WebP is well supported in browsers but still refused by many desktop editors, print pipelines, older CMSs and upload forms. JPG is accepted essentially everywhere.
Does converting lose quality?
Both formats are lossy, so saving as JPG applies a second round of compression. At a quality setting of 90 or above the difference is rarely visible, but the loss is real and cumulative — keep the original WebP if you plan to edit further.
Will the file get bigger?
Usually yes. JPG is less efficient than WebP at the same visual quality, so expect a larger file. Lowering the quality setting reduces this.
Is there a file size limit?
The limit is your device rather than a plan. Because the work happens in your browser, large images are bounded by available memory, not a paid tier.
