It assumes an average silent reading speed of 225 words per minute, which is typical for adult readers working through general text.
How is speaking time calculated?
It assumes a delivery speed of 140 words per minute, which is a comfortable pace for presentations and voice-over work.
Do spaces count as characters?
Both figures are shown. The character count includes spaces, and a separate figure excludes them, because different platforms count them differently.
Does it work without an internet connection?
Yes, once the page has loaded. Nothing is fetched while you work, so a dropped connection does not interrupt a run.
Do I need an account or an email address?
No. There is nothing to sign up for, and nothing is ever attached to an identity because no file leaves your device.
